The Focus Bathyscafocus captures the elegance of geometric simplicity through a beautifully balanced suspended fireplace design. Inspired by the form of deep-sea exploration vessels, its perfectly rounded silhouette creates a calm architectural presence while delivering a captivating view of the flames from every angle within the room.

Designed by Dominique Imbert in 1978, the Bathyscafocus has become one of Focus’s most recognisable creations. The suspended fire bowl rotates through 360 degrees, allowing warmth and atmosphere to flow naturally throughout the living space. Its compact proportions make it especially suited to contemporary interiors, open-plan rooms, and design-led renovation projects where sculptural form and visual impact are equally important.

The generous open hearth creates a direct and immersive connection with the fire, framed within a smooth steel body finished in matt black or optional white. Bespoke flue systems are tailored to the installation, allowing the fireplace to integrate seamlessly into a wide variety of architectural settings. A porthole version with a closed firebox is also available, offering increased thermal efficiency while preserving the distinctive spherical styling of the original design.
